Squad Priority

Hello, Legion. The following is a transcript of Asher Atreus' Conclave Talk on Squad Priority...

Welcome to the second meeting of The Conclave! This week's discussion is on squad prioritizing and the benefits that careful planning can bring!

Whether you started yesterday or over a year ago, I'm sure we all remember our first moments...The Twi'lek helping us maneuver the main screen, feeling great in our first battle, then utter confusion after the tutorial. (That's how I remember it lol) Hopefully, this guide helps you prioritise the vast character and faction pool of SWGoH.
In section 1, I discuss the basics of squad prioritizing. While it seems self explanatory, any questions are welcome. Let's begin...
Squad priority is a huge aspect of SWGoH. Especially when you realize just how many characters there are. (152, I believe)
There are a few major things to consider when considering a squad:

1. Arena
2. Fleets
3. Events

Arena: Will that squad hold in arena?

(Phoenix=Yes! Bounty Hunters=Not really)

Fleets: Does that squad have any pilots with a good ship?

(Rebels=Absolutely! NightSisters=0 ships.)

Events: Most squads have an event of some kind.

Okay, now that the information is on the table, let's discuss starting squads. One word...PHOENIX!

Seriously, Phoenix is generally agreed upon as the best starting squad. Reasons for this include:

1. This squad gets you Palpatine AND Thrawn.
2. Two very decent ships. (Also, gets you Chimera)
3. Solid Arena squad early on.
4. Does well in a number of events.
5. Do I really need to list more?

Bonus: EASY TO OBTAIN!

Now this question appears, "When am I done?" or "How do I know when they're good enough to stop?"

My general answer is 7* and Gear 8 minimum. If you find a squad enjoyable though, put more resources into it! Don't be afraid to bump that Lobot up to gear 12! Well, maybe not Lobot, but you get the idea!
Let's move on to what I like to call, "Branching."

Consider your first squad the base of your foundation or the trunk of your tree. While a tree trunk may be strong, it doesn't look too pretty does it? Well now that you finished that first squad, it's time to "branch" out and add some depth.

Look at what you have vs what you don't have when branching. For example sake, we have 1 squad: Phoenix. What we need now is a dark side squad! Let's see what we have to work with...Oh wow! Phoenix got us Palpatine and Thrawn. Achievements got us Vader too! That's 3 amazing Empire characters! Which means 2 more and you have a whole Dark Side squad now!

Pros of an Empire squad:
1. Does great in Arena.
2. Has a few good ships! (Tarkin even has a Capital Ship)
3. Does well in several events too!

Three major things to look for all got check marked!

WooHoo! We have a Light Side and a Dark Side squad now! At this point, you can branch is a number of ways, but remember the 3 basics:

1. Will they help in Arena?
2. Will they improve my Fleets?
3. What events are they useful in?

Keeping those in mind will help a ton when deciding on what to look for next!

I just have a few final notes at this point!

1. Remember the 3 Basics (Arena, Fleet, Events) This helps you select a priority squad.

2. Focus and Finish! If you start a squad, focus on them and finish them! Get them 7* and gear 8 minimum before moving on!

3. The Force requires balance! Don't go too heavy with Light or Dark side. Find a balance. I go Light, Dark, Light, Dark, and so on.

I think this covers my guide on Squad Priority!
If there are any questions, feel free to ask!
